This Shaolin Grand Opening represents a unique cultural collision and harmony between the west and that of the east. Close to 30 years ago, founder and chair of SCF (Shaolin Chan Foundation) and headmaster of Shaolin Institute, Shi Deru, also known as Shawn X. Liu, brought Shaolin Kung Fu, Qi Gong and traditional Tai Chi to the southeastern U.S., opening schools in Atlanta, Mobile, and New Orleans. He has devoted his life to helping people and is doing so through community outreach efforts like World Tai Chi Day, Asian cultural celebrations, and martial arts performances by his highly acclaimed Shaolin Institute Performance Team.
Grand Master Shi Deru has helped many students overcome life-threatening conditions that did not respond well to conventional therapies. He credits success to the “mindset” of his students that comes about with the training, practice and mastery of these ancient therapeutic techniques.
People of all ages, fitness levels, and abilities are invited to freely participate in many classes offered during the grand opening such as Qi Gong (“chee-gung”) breathing exercises and basic Tai Chi classes. These ancient arts involve simple, slow, fluid movements that, along with controlled deep breathing, create calmness of mind, body, and spirit. Tai Chi is low-impact, making it an ideal exercise therapy for the elderly, injured, and even disabled individuals (www.shaolin-world.net).
Zen Meditation, which is another lecture and practice for locals, focuses on nothingness, no thoughts and “let it go,” so as to create space. It is that space of nothingness which contains the essence of that Cosmic Qi to recharge one body-mind to work and function with wonders. Cosmic Qi is the life force that gives life motion and life energy to live, to organize, to heal and to think and speak intelligently.
The seminar during the grand opening will be started with Grandmaster DeRu’s introduction of quantum conscious communication and Zen meditation for cosmic Qi (energy) and self-empowerment. A lecture of meditation in quantum conscious communication will lead each participant into the chapter of internal KungFu and meridians.
The lecture will also introduce the Jing Luo (meridian) system of Chinese medicine in relation to traditional internal Kung Fu for health and heeling, Chinese herb medicine, acupuncture, and acu-point medical massage, which have always been part of the Shaolin traditional training for centuries. Since ancient times, it has been known in China that Shaolin Zen Masters, above all other tasks, have healed people around the temple hundreds of miles.
Zen Tai Gong will be major part of the lecture during the grand opening to introduce the community of New Orleans. This healing therapy is of combination of Tai Chi and Qi Gong, designed by DeRu for over 15 years’ continued research and perfection, applying meridian-organ Chinese medical and natural healing system with each motion to communicate with each cell, transport energy, and nourish the entire system to bring the body and mind in full function to connection with the universe cosmic Qi for healing and self-empowering.
The concept of Tai Gong, according to DeRu, is to first of all bring the body and mind together from inner conscious to outer conscious from cells’ conscious to cosmic Qi conscious to bridge that special communication channeling Qi so as to create more cosmic Qi (energy) for bodily organism reorganization to defend oneself from disease to eventually achieve optimal health.
All the movements are designed in such a way of motion to instigate and propagate the entire mind-body cosmic Qi system to flow together in communication to vibrate that Positive Qi to tap the cosmic Qi of the universe.
Everyone, especially the executives and computer ITs and DTs, needs to let go of all distraction of thoughts and material desires. Let go anything that makes one tense and release all the emotions and stress that will unleash the inner power to enhance one’s resilience and indomitable spirit.
